Transit Valley Country Club is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in East Amherst, New York. Transit Valley is considered a first-class country club with a wide range of challenging holes including a 529-yard par-5 and hosts Regional USGA tournaments throughout the year. The condition of the grounds is paramount to the function and desirablity of the facility.
TVCC approached Tredo Engineers to study the 150-acre property to understand why current drainage systems were underperforming leaving several fairways under water for extended periods of time and limiting play. After studing the grounds, Tredo determined that addtional storage ponds were required to convey and lower the standing water elevations creating the problems. These ponds were located and naturally contoured into existing low spots and positioned to limit the impact of play on the existing fairways. Subseuqent users have expressed how pleased they are with the appearance, location and effect the new ponds have had on the playabiity of the course. Following the success of this project, Tredo has continued servicing the grounds over the years with other renovation projects including a short game practice field.
