The KeyBank Roundhouse is a special place, constructed from Douglas Fir timbers, harvested from new growth forests in Oregon and British Columbia, where for every tree cut 2 or more are planted. It is a perfect example of how renewable materials can be used effectively and beautifully.
The KeyBank Roundhouse showcases Buffalo's manufacturing past via a fully restored antique 1924 Spillman Engineering Corp. carousel.
With a focus on renewable energies, the carousel runs 100% on solar energy thanks to a TESLA solar array roof.
The substructure consists of steel piles supporting a structural slab on grade and perimeter grade beams.
